editorial for this month…
America’s reaction to the current recession is to spend more money on mistakes, rather than admit them.
The government is shifting massive amounts of capital away from investments based on economic calculations, toward political calculations.
Passing the $800 million spending bill, the President is positive it will “save and create” 4 billion new jobs. each job will cost the government $200,000 then, after sending $100,000 to every one of those families, the government would save $400 billion. This would seem to “save and create” more jobs but, there is a rather large possibility that the government did not factor in. The problem: the government does not have this money. The national treasury will spend $2 trillion more than it recieves in the current $1.2 trillion deficit–not including the $800 billion cost of the bill.
Now, the government must borrow $2 trillion. There are funds available for people seeking loans which is where the government will take this money from. From consumers looking to buy cars, appliances, houses or employers seeking to add jobs; the government will borrow the money available from the citizens to get loans. The government will make the money unavailable for the consumers, who would be expanding the economy using the money when the government will take the money to expand the government.
President Obama seems to think government spending would stimulate the economy. If this were true, America would be enjoying a period of economic expansion.
The point is, from bailouts, stimulus spending and loans approved over the past year, spending totals to nearly $10 trillion, according to mercurynews.com. From these policies, we have not seen prosperity.
To increase productivity, the government must reduce the burdens of productivity. History proves the best way to deal with the current recession: reducing taxes on productivity, like the House of Republicans proposed.
It worked for John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. The tax reduction would produce double amount of jobs, costing less than half of the President’s New Deal.

Personal blogs are an excellent option for young people to express their emotions in a positive way. Web logs are becoming more popular as entertainment and as a way for people to express new ideas.
Blogging opens up a new way the Internet can be used in the Internet can be used in everyday life. Evolving from the online diary in the 1990’s, blogs, also called web logs, allow bloggers to interact online while readers leave comments.
“Blogs can be a real force for good when they act as supra fact-checkers. They can add serious value when they quickly elevate experts in obscure topics to the force of public discussion. And they have enormous potential to enable on-the-ground reporting when news happens suddenly or in remote locations,” said Jonathan Last, the Weekly Standard’s online editor.
Last also expresses his positivity towards blogging in a way that benefits the community as a new form of media.
Though some fear blogs will not only spout into a popular way to get media, there are many articles on web logs taking a new form of journalism. Even newspapers have blogs on their websites about topics like sports teams and celebrities.
With many blogs centered around science and gossip, most are about people’s lives and experiences. A leading cause of death in teen years is early depression leading to suicide or disease. One-way kids become depressed is that they have bottled up emotion, piling up, keeping it to themselves. Blogging enables teens to say what is really on their mind without the trouble and embarrassment of talking to professionals or someone they do not trust.
Blogging is a positive form entertainment but safety online is always an issue. Putting personal information like full names, ages and city can be very dangerous and makes it easy for predators to track people. Also, when mentioning specific people, one should be aware of how much information they write about friends. Another precaution is realizing who reads blogs. Even parents can be secretly sneaking in peeks of curiosity.
Not only is blogging a way to release stress, schools are offering scholarships to students who have blogs. On collegescholarships.org, one can get $10,000 for maintaining a unique and interesting web log. The participant must be a US citizen and be creative in writing.
Historic diaries and journals have been used as useful accounts to find more about events and leaders. Blogs today have the same effect. Scientific minds record new findings and artists are explaining inspiration everyday. These thoughts could be very useful someday.
Many sites offer free blogs open to anyone. Google has a very popular site where one can find blogs varying in every subject. Though some have themes, blogs can be about anything and very personal.
Blogging gives new minds a chance to express their creative thoughts and feelings about society, giving the world a new insight on many matters.

Can you hear me?
Your here
Your gone.
My arms are open,
Shut tight.
Laughing
Crying,
Dying.
You look sad, but your happy.
I look happy, but I am sad.
Can you hear me?
Can I ever stop listening.
I don’t care.
Do you care?
No
Always.
SHUT
closed
empty
alone
gone
drive
far
quiet
wordless
frustration
dark
hopeless
goodbye
gone
shut.
I write, I think, I draw
I listen, I watch, I predict
I open, I look, I search
I anger, I frustrate, I freeze
I hope, I feel, I care
I try, I please, I fail
